River Connections: Human Ecology – Headwaters Celebration

  • The Strathdearn Tomatin, IV13 7YN (map)

Uisge Èirinn | River Findhorn

Cruth na tìre air a doimhneachd | A landscape by its depth

An evening of stories, songs and music exploring the cultural expressions of the upper reaches of the River Findhorn Watershed; from the source to the Streens.

Fairy songs, love songs, work songs and bright fiddle strathspeys and reels from Gaelic tradition – inspired by the landscapes and stories of our River’s headwaters, unearthed from the depths of the Archives and brought back to life by esteemed musicians.

This event is a culmination and celebration of a 6-month journey of cultural research and engagement in the upper catchment of the River Findhorn. Each guest will receive a printed artefact mapping the lost songs and tunes of this place, calling us forth to share and steward them into the future.

Featuring musicians:

Julie Fowlis, multi-award winning Gaelic singer

🎼 Ewan Robertson of Breabach on guitar

🎻 Rachel Campbell on fiddle and song

🎶 Munro Gauld on Scottish traditional flute
